Festival Casa Tomada

The Festival Casa Tomada, a pioneering initiative of Coletivo CIDA and Casa Tomada, was born in 2016 with a focus on the language of dance. In its IX edition, the festival presents a significant turning point, expanding its scope to include other artistic languages such as performance, theater, and cinema. Our goal is to provide unique experiences, promoting exchange between artists and the public, and valuing different forms of artistic expression, diversities, and hybridisms in the contemporary scene.

In 2024, under the thematic axis "Plural Practices and Hybridisms," the festival will select works that explore the intersection of the arts, promote inclusion, and are accessible to diverse audiences. In addition to continuing to promote dance, the festival now invites individuals and legal entities to submit scenic and cinematic proposals in one of the four festival categories: International Artistic Residency, National Scenic Exhibition, National Film Exhibition, and Local Process Exhibition. This expansion reflects Coletivo CIDA and Casa Tomada's commitment to the evolution and diversification of the arts in the context of contemporary arts.

Under the concept of "Plural Practices and Hybridisms," the 2024 edition of the Festival Casa Tomada will take place on September 18, 19, and 20 at the Teatro Alberto Maranhão. The festival reaffirms Coletivo CIDA's commitment to accessible cultural actions, ensuring that all programming is inclusive, with accessibility in Libras and audio description, allowing a diverse audience to enjoy the activities offered.

The IX Festival Casa Tomada - Plural Practices and Hybridisms is an initiative of Coletivo CIDA - Independent Collective Dependent on Artists and Casa Tomada Ambient Art, contemplated by Public Selection No. 025/2023 - Paulo Gustavo Law for Support to Cultural Areas through the Selection Notice for Audiovisual Projects No. 01/2023 and the Selection Notice for Multicultural Projects No. 02/2023.
